I found a picture of this chest in the book American Case Furniture at Yale. Boston had a history of either a bombe or blockfront chest for their affluent customers.
This reproduction is from the period 1760-1790
This blockfront is made from Honduran Mahogany as the primary wood and Eastern White Pine as the secondary.
The chest is made from two boards, the sides and top are from one board and the drawer fronts and feet are from a single 3″ thick board
It has 4 hand carved ball & claw feet. The drawer fronts are cut from 3 inch solid mahogany.
There is a lock which works in each drawer.
The dimensions are 36 W x 32 1/2 H x 21 D
The finish is shellac and wax.
It is currently available for sale at $4500.
